IMCA Awards
 

Richard J. Davis Ethics Award
The Richard J. Davis Ethics Award honors the author(s) of an article that has made a significant contribution to advancing the understanding and knowledge of the investment management consulting profession in the area of ethics, or on the legal and regulatory issues that affect the profession. The relevant legal and regulatory regimes include, but are not limited to, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Uniform Prudent Investor Act, and the Uniform Management of Institutional Funds Act. The award is presented at an IMCA Conference.
The award first was presented in 2004. Recipients include the following: Joseph Holt, Gordon Marino, and Meir Statman.
 
Journalism Award
The Journalism Award honors the author(s) of an original article that represents the best writing in the investment management consulting industry for the previous year. Nominations can include IMCA members or nonmembers who during the previous year wrote a ground-breaking, topical article or book that is germane to investment management consulting and the issues facing investment management consultants in their daily work. Each piece will be evaluated for its academic and analytical vision and originality of research. The award is presented at an IMCA Conference.
 
Recipients include the following: Ross Barry; Ana Cascon, Paul Greenwood; Ronald Kahn; A. Craig MacKinlay, CIMA®; Jianping Mei; Matthew Morey; Michael Moses; Andrew Rudd; William F. Shadwick, Frank Sortino; Meir Statman; and Ron Surz, CIMA®.

Stephen L. Kessler Writing Award
The Stephen L. Kessler Writing Award honors the first editor of the IMCA Monitor. The award is presented to the author(s) of the best original articles that are written by IMCA members and published in the Monitor. The selected articles should make a substantial contribution to the body of knowledge of investment management consulting and educating the investment management consultant. One winner and two "honorable distinction" winners will be selected. The award is presented at an IMCA Conference.
 
Recipients include the following: Thomas Boczar; Bruce Curwood, CIMA®; David Gordon, CIMA®; Debbie Hall; David Loeper, CIMA®; Rex Macey, CIMA®; Matthew McArthur; Robert Padgette, CIMA®; Margaret Towle, PhD; and W. Lloyd Williams.

Matthew R. McArthur Award
The Matthew R. McArthur Award honors individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the profession of investment management consulting, advanced the skill set or technology of investment management consulting, and have exhibited a long-term commitment to investment management consulting. The individual does not have to be a practicing investment management consultant but could have developed a business theory that furthers the profession. The award is presented at an IMCA Conference.
The award first was presented in 2000. Previous recipients have been Edwin Callan, John Casey, Michael Clowes, William Crerend, William Dreher, Richard Ennis, James Knupp, John O'Brien, Leonard Reinhart, and Barr Rosenberg.
