Program Topics:
Investment Policy and the Asset Allocation Process
The “Investment Policy and the Asset Allocation Process” module teaches concepts and procedures necessary for the consultant to formulate and implement an investment policy and related asset allocation. The topics covered include: establishing client investment objectives, an overview of the capital markets including capital markets theory, formulation of investment policy guidelines, determination of risk tolerance and development of an asset allocation.
Manager Search and Selection
The “Manager Search and Selection” module covers manager due diligence, evaluating investment management organizations, understanding strategies and styles and monitoring requirements.
Performance Measurement and Evaluation
This module in the IMCA self-study course incorporates evaluation and analysis in measuring a portfolio’s performance. Topics covered: performance calculations, risk calculations, performance evaluation, performance attribution, and performance standards.
Math for Investment Consultants
This publication contains learning objectives in the mathematics of finance: notation, future value, CAPM, and performance measurement.
Prerequisites:
The Essentials of Investment Consulting is open to anyone interested in the investment consulting process.
Continuing Education:
This program is approved for 12 CFP CE Credits.
