IMCA Announces 2008 Conference Calendar

DENVER—March 12, 2008—Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) is dedicated to the advanced education of investment professionals. IMCA conferences and certificate programs hosted more than 4,000 attendees in 2007. The bi-annual national conferences offer headline general sessions and leading-edge workshops with topics such as practice management, technology, international investments, and wealth management. Specialty conferences explore these areas further through focused-topic agendas.

“IMCA has slated an outstanding calendar of educational events dedicated to the advancement of investment management consultants in 2008,” said Dede Pahl, executive director of IMCA. “Both our New York Consultants Conference and Mathematics of Investing Specialty Conference sold out earlier this year, which speaks to the caliber of the content and knowledge delivered at these events.”

2008 Spring Professional Development Conference, May 18–20, New Orleans, LA
This national conference features keynote speakers William Sharpe, Ph.D.; economist Marci Rossell; Wharton professor Kathy Pearson, Ph.D.; and an overview of how the upcoming presidential election will affect the industry by strategist Greg Valliere. Attendees can customize their learning experience with concurrent educational tracks focusing on the tools they need to succeed in business. In support of the city’s authentic culture and vibrant resurgence, IMCA is hosting a volunteer event that allows attendees the opportunity to give back to the community that has given America so much. Volunteers can participate in rebuilding efforts throughout New Orleans—one of our nation’s most historic cities.

2008 Canadian Consultants Conference, June 5–6, Toronto, ON
IMCA’s 2008 Canadian Consultants Conference will focus on Leadership and Professionalism—The Continual Pursuit of Advisory Excellence. Keynote speakers include Charlotte Beyer from the Institute for Private Investors; Amanda Lang from Business News Network; and Donald M. Raymond, Ph.D., CFA^®, from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. A number of other speakers will present on topics ranging from performance analysis and ethics, to global investing and economic outlook.
