He is also the founder of UnconstrainedThought, a macro-economic, investment, and wealth management consultancy. In his sessions, Welch will cover the five actions successful advisors take for their clients, the technical aspects of these actions and how you can apply them within your practice.

Welch received a 2015 Stephen L. Kessler Writing Award honorable distinction for his Investments & Wealth Monitor article: Six Habits of Highly Successful Advisors.

 

Richard Marston, PhD, is the James R. F. Guy Professor of Finance at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and director of the George Weiss Center for International Financial Research. In his sessions, Marston will be discussing strategies for saving and managing wealth. He will explore some of the crucial decisions in saving, investing, and managing wealth over a lifetime based on his recent book, Investing for a Lifetime: Managing Wealth for the “New Normal.”

Richard Marston, PhD, is the James R. F. Guy Professor of Finance at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and director of the George Weiss Center for International Financial Research. He regularly participates in IMCA’s CIMA® education program and the Advanced Management Program. He is director of the Private Wealth Management Program for ultra-high-net-worth families that began in 1999; more than 600 family members have taken this week-long program. Professor Marston is a member of the board of WP Carey LLC and currently serves on the investment committees of four ultra-high-net-worth families.

Professor Marston has given presentations in more than a dozen countries in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. He also has given presentations for a number of securities firms in the United States including Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, Lincoln Financial, and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Professor Marston’s work has been widely cited in the press including publications such as Barron’sFinancial TimesNewsweek, and the Wall Street Journal, and he has appeared on television programs such as the Nightly Business Report and CNBC. Dr. Marston is the author or editor of six books including International Financial Integration among the Industrial Countries, which won the Sanwa Bank Prize in International Finance, and Portfolio Design: A Modern Approach to Asset Allocation. His latest book, Investing for a Lifetime, was published in June 2014.

He earned a BA summa cum laude from Yale University, a BPhil from Oxford University, and a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship and a Fulbright Fellowship.

Cancellation/Transfer Policy
All cancellations for conference registration must be received in writing. The registration fee less a $50 cancellation fee will be refunded for cancellations postmarked or faxed by October 23, 2015. No refunds will be granted for cancellations received after October 23, 2015, or for nonattendance.

 

Best of IMCA— San Francisco offers the following continuing education (CE) credit:

CIMA®/CIMC®/CPWA® Marks—This program has been accepted by IMCA for six (6) hours of continuing education (CE) credit. IMCA will report your attendance at the event directly to IMCA’s certification department. Program subject to change, which may affect the type and total number of hours delivered.

CFP® Certification—This program has been submitted to the CFP Board for review. IMCA will report your attendance at this event to the CFP Board on your behalf. Note that you must complete the following steps:

  • Provide your CFP ID to IMCA. Enter your CFP ID in My IMCA in the “Update contact information” section. You also may enter your CFP ID when you register for a conference.
  • Sign in at the IMCA Registration Desk at the beginning of the event.
  • IMCA will provide information to the CFP Board. The CFP Board will notify you when this occurs. IMCA currently reports CE session attendance to the CFP Board two times a month (middle and end). IMCA will provide attendees who hold the CFP certification a certificate of completion within 10 business days from the close of the conference via e-mail.

Please note that IMCA is not able to report to the CFP Board on your behalf if we do not have an accurate CFP ID. Please check your My IMCA account to ensure the information is in our database and is accurate.

NASBA CPE Credit—IMCA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy as a sponsor of CE on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors (ID 106054). State boards of accountancy have final authority about the acceptance of individual courses. Individuals are responsible for submitting any necessary paperwork and/or fees to their state boards. Upon request, IMCA will provide a certificate of attendance after the conference.
