Michael Gallmeyer, professor, McIntire School of Business, University of Virginia, studies how market imperfections influence security prices and trade. Professor Gallmeyer’s research focuses on heterogeneous beliefs, taxation, trading constraints, and monetary policy. He also serves as an associate editor for Mathematics and Financial Economics. Previously, he was on the faculty at the Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, and Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University. He has published many articles in leading academic journals such as Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Review of Finance, Mathematical Finance, and Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control. He earned a B.S. in applied mathematics, Carnegie Mellon University, and a Ph.D. in finance, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
